ニート支援に国が少しずつ力を注ぐよう。
文科省は「受験戦争の中で将来を具体的に考えずに進学した結果、明確な目標を持てない学生も多い。就職にも失敗し、ニートやフリーターになる場合もある」と指摘、大学入学直後からキャリア教育を充実させるとしている。
《キャリア教育》職業観を身に付け主体的に進路を選択する能力を育てる教育。
文科省は大学を職業訓練校するつもりなのだろうか？

また、同じ記事の後半には首を傾げたくなるような記載がある。
文科省は「職業ガイダンス以外に、普段の授業の中でも、将来の目標や仕事について意識できるようなカリキュラムづくりが可能だ。就職だけでなく、どのような失敗や危機にも打ち勝てる『人生力』を身に付けてほしい」としている。
「どんな失敗や危機にも打ち勝てる『人生力』を身につけるカリキュラム」とはいったいなんなのだろう？
そんなカリキュラムが本当にあるのならば、僕は喜んで受講したいと思う。
文科省がこんなストンキョなことを言い出すことに、ニートに対する認識のズレの根本があるように思う。
大学生をマニュアルにはめ込み、「キャリア教育」を施せば、ニートもフリーターもいなくなるなんて、時代錯誤も甚だしい。
ニートやフリーターが受験戦争の弊害と認めている一方で、なぜ同じことを繰り返そうとするのだろう。
そんなことを思いながら、「過保護」ということばを思い出した。
ちょうど僕が小学校の頃、「親の過保護」が問題になったことがあるように思う。
学校の準備から、身の回りのことまですべて母親がやってしまうので、子どもがいつまでも自立しない。
子どもは反抗期を経て、大人になる。
いつしか親のことがうっとおしくなり、そして親離れをし、自立していく。
親離れできない子ども、子離れできない親。
合わせ鏡のような共依存関係の中で、自立できない子どもはそのことをいつまでも親のせいにし、そのことに責任を感じてしまう親は、より子どもを過保護にしていく。
「自立」と「過保護」の無限連鎖
国のニート支援というのも、同じことだ。
社会がニートを過保護にすればするほど、彼らの自立への道は閉ざされる。
そして、ニートは自分が自立できないことを社会のせいにし、社会はニートを自立させるためにより強固な抑圧のシステムを組もうとする。
社会から強要される自立とは、自立という名の抑圧である。
だからせめて、ニートを放ってあげられないだろうか？
彼らに必要なのは保護ではなく、支援なのだ。
子どもをニートにさせない、のではなく、ニートになった子どもをどう支援するか？
ニートが自立しようと思ったときに、そっと手を貸してあげるだけでいい。
子どもが失敗したときに、支えることができる最低限度のセーフティーネットでいい。
過保護から自立は生まれないのだから。

8/25のコラムに「通りがかった者」です。
私も離職から再就職まで随分時間がかかった人間なので、以来、興味深く読ませてもらっています。
確かに、最近「ニートにならないための××」とか「子供をニートにしない××」みたいのが多いですね。
こういう表現には「人間、ニートになったらお終いよ」という意味が隠されているようで、私は好きではありません。
こういうものの言い方は、現在無職であったりニートであったりする人達の印象をますます悪くし、彼らの自立・再就職をより困難にしてしまうのではないかと思うのです。
むしろ、ニートのような状況からでも何らかの形で社会生活に復帰できるような余裕のある社会システムの形成と、そしてそのような生き方を頭ごなしに否定しない、余裕のある周囲の人間の態度こそが、彼らの自主的な自立を促すのだと、私は思うのですが…。

後半の部分でおっしゃるとおり、ニートがニートとして認められる余裕のある社会こそがニートを自立させるためのシステムだと思います。

初めまして。
このサイトは友達の会話から「ニート」という単語が出てきたのでインターネットで検索した所、このサイトに出会いました。
何もニートという意味も知らずにコラムを読んでいました。正直世間知らずだったと思います。
私事で申し訳ありませんが今21という年で経営者という立場に起っています。幾人もフォローしています。悩みを聞いています。アドバイスしています。でもニートという意味すら知りませんでした。思い返すと、私も心に「ニート」の部類に入る自分がいる時があります。今まで「ニート」と呼ばれる現実に職場に戻る事が困難な人は弱者だと思いこみ、極力関わらないようにしていました。これも一種の現実逃避、「ニート」だと思います。
今回、読ませていただいたコラムは、知らず知らず視野が狭くなっていた私を一喝してくれたんだと感じています。自分勝手にこれまで書かせていただきましたが私の中の「気付き」になったと思います。

ニートがニートでなくなる最初の一歩は、ニートである本人がそれを自覚し、そこから成長しようと意識することだと思います。
本人の自覚無しには何も始まりません。
その本人の自覚を、引き出すもっとも大きな力になるのは、一般的には一番近い存在である親です。
しかし、現状はteddyさんの書かれているように、保護することがそれを救うことだと勘違いしている風潮があり、それが問題を深刻化させているように思います。過保護は肩代わりです。その人が成長するために通らねばならない壁、努力をかわりにやってあげるということです。これでは本人にはいつまでたっても生きる能力は生まれないと思います。
題名を見た限りでは、「なんてひどいことを書くんだ」と勝手に思っておりましたが、よく読んだら正論でした。私の不徳のいたすところです。申し訳ありませんでした。

こんばんは。私にも25才になる弟がいるのですが、ﾆｰﾄで仕事もせず、一日中家にいます。母親との二人暮しですが母ももう年で、仕事も定年を迎えます。 弟は一日中部屋にこもって、ﾃﾚﾋﾞｹﾞｰﾑをして、気がﾑｼｬｸｼｬすると、母に暴力も振るいます。 何とか弟を変えたいと思いますがどうしたらいいのか分からず、いい知恵を教わりたく、ﾒｰﾙしました。 正直あせっています。
